Who We Serve

Parents | Caregivers | Families

Strengthening families in our community can take form in so many ways. Here at The Edification Station (TES), we aim to make a social impact by offering parenting workshops at hours that make sense for families. We believe strongly in science so we share research and evidence based practices that focus on empowering families to be most effective and successful in their everyday interactions with their children. Relationships are at the core of how we approach coaching, behavioral and social emotional consultation, as well as how we connect virtually.

Early Childhood Professionals

Let’s face it, teachers have nearly zero time to invest in themselves because they are so busy selflessly serving others. That’s why we love teachers so much here at The Edification Station. We want to help meet your professional development needs to stay current on your Social Emotional training requirements for the year.

Community Partners

The Edification Station is here to help fill gaps in services for teachers, families, and early childhood professionals that exist in our community. Agencies tasked with identifying the gaps and securing quality training, preventative services, and supportive services are often understaffed or just don’t have the capacity to run regularly scheduled supports. Many highly skilled and trained professionals don’t have an agency or resources to put on training independently. Let us play a part in connecting your target population to the most appropriate training and we will help trainers gain access to the people in need of the service.

What We Do

Classes

pexels-rodnae-productions-7092344.jpg

We have a host of classes and workshops for parents, parents to be, families, teachers, and providers. Trainers from TES are current and credentialed to train from a number of highly regarded programs all of which carry years of science and research behind them. As we continue to build our instructor database there are always new opportunities arising.

Products

Our most popular products are geared towards building the social emotional capacity in others no matter the age. Teachers and families are busy living life and don’t always have the time, energy, or background in early childhood development needed to truly capitalize on those 0-5 years. We have created kits for home and school to better equip adults with the necessary tools to more efficiently grow your child’s confidence and ability to get their needs met in constructive and appropriate ways.

Behavioral Consultations

Our staff has extensive experience in conducting functional behavior assessments to identify the root causes of numerous challenging behaviors. Consultative services are designed to uncover those roots and to team with the family or teacher to create a behavior support plan that will lead to providing that child with a replacement behavior that meets the need while ensuring safety and respect of the individuals needs are at the forefront.

About Nicole

As a Developmental Interventionist (DI) – Social Emotional (SE) Specialist, I utilize best practices in evaluating and assessing children referred for Early Intervention services ages 0 to 3. I assist infants and toddlers to attain approximate, or comparable developmental milestones through the use of environmental adaptations, assistive technology and play. I facilitate play and interactions with same-age peers to encourage and promote friendship skills, and relationship building. I assist families in community environments as well. I encourage them to grow their support system in the community and to grow a sense of belonging and support. Through coaching, I empower parents to carry on learning all day and to use their natural supports. I am bilingual in Spanish and English and charged with responding to the cultural and linguistic diversity of families and connecting them to the appropriate services. The physical and emotional safety of the children and families I serve is my highest priority. I am trained to recognize signs and symptoms of abuse, neglect, trauma, or developmental delay. Partnering with these families to better support their infants and toddlers from a more trauma informed lens has become a critical part of my duties.
